Shalida A. Askanazi is an author and poet born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She is Afro-Latina and has a rare disability called sacral agenesis. Her work is heavily inspired by being a disabled Black woman in America and mental health in the Black community. She has written a poetry collection and memoir; her poetry has been featured in The Taco Bell Quarterly and numerous other publications.
